The Balagolla Police have launched a search for an individual who nailed two of his friends, on two logs in the shape of a cross.
The suspect is believed to in charge of a renowned place of worship (dewalaya) in Ampitiya, Kandy.
Reportedly, the 30-year-old suspect had invited the victims to his residence, and had later kidnapped them and nailed them on the crosses, with the aid of an unidentified group.
The torture is believed to have been committed over an insult his friends had made on Facebook.
The suspects have fled the area, whilst the victims, aged 38 and 44, are currently receiving treatment at the Kandy National Hospital.
